Bashar Al Shawa is a built environment sustainability specialist. He holds a PhD in buildings’ energy policy and an MSc in environmental design — both from the University of Bath, UK — and is a Certified Passivhaus Designer.
Bashar has more than 7 years of industry experience and has led sustainable design projects ranging from office and residential buildings to airports and masterplan developments. His experience covers multiple geographies and includes projects in the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kazakhstan. He regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and magazines — including The Conversation, Fast Company, and World Economic Forum.
